Swiss App Awards 2012, March 21., Zurich, Switzerland

WHY SWISS APP AWARDS?

Switzerland is known for quality, innovation and lasting design. The Swiss App Awards is an appreciation and celebration of all those who continue these traditions in app development.

We believe that sharing and giving attention to great apps stimulate the industry and nourish ideas and initiatives even more. Great apps are coming to life through the sharing of experience and knowledge. At least this once a year we should take the opportunity to celebrate excellence within Swiss app development and remind ourselves what it it all about – developing engaging, delightful, elegant, compelling, intuitive and reliable apps!

RULES

To be nominated, the following rules apply:

  • The app was made available in an App store or was updated between Jan. 1, 2011 and the end of submission date Feb. 17, 2012
  • The app is owned by a Swiss company or a company with Swiss VAT no.
  • And very importantly; apps eligible for an award should be submitted no later than Feb. 17, 2012.

The prize will be awarded to the involved parties; the app winning developer, designer and owner.

HOW ARE THE APPS FOUND?

The apps eligible for awards are found in two different ways.

  1. Swiss owned apps uploaded on this page between January 1 and February 17, 2012 will be evaluated by the Jury. The apps can be uploaded on the right side of the page.
  2. The Jury will be pro-active and search for Swiss apps. The app owners/designers/developer nominees will be contacted.

The best way to make sure that the Jury becomes aware of an app is to upload the app information here between January 1 and February 17, 2012. All received apps will participate in the Swiss App Awards 2012.

FINDING THE NOMINEES AND THE WINNERS

After the February 17, 2012 deadline for app submitting, the Jury will test all submitted apps and rate them from 1-10 within three categories; design, functionality, and usability. Jury members who have been involved or whose employees have been involved in the development of tested apps are not allowed to vote for their own app. The five best rated apps within each of the seven award categories will be presented as the nominees on this site on February 24. All nominees will be given two tickets to the event, free of charge.

At the Swiss Awards event the top five nominees from each of the seven categories will be presented and finally the award winners will be revealed. The winners are found by the Jury and will be rewarded with a beautiful sculpture and the glory of being Swiss App Awards winners.

*When submitting the app, you are asked to provide us with the number of downloads. If the app is among the nominees in the "Most downloaded" category, we kindly ask you to provide us with a proof (print screen/copy/...) of the number of downloads from the app store. The prize will be given after relative downloads per month. All information about downloads will be kept strictly confidential.
